Social Justice Minded
Our research team takes a feminist, intersectional approach to preventing abuse and promoting thriving relationships by recognizing how multiple forms of oppression operate on the interpersonal, community, and cultural levels to perpetuate gender-based violence among young people. Our strengths-based framework recognizes that communities have the knowledge and skills needed to ameliorate social issues.
Housed in the ASU School of Social Work and affiliated with the Office of Gender-Based Violence, our team is comprised of members from social work, psychology, women and gender studies, human rights and social justice, and public health. We come from a variety of epistemological and theoretical perspectives, using qualitative, quantitative, and community-based participatory methodologies.
